Apply for Forestry Planning and Transition Support Program (Australia)

Deadline Date: September 08, 2026

The Forestry Industry Supply Chain Support Program is offering to support initiative that provides financial assistance to forestry businesses affected by harvesting restrictions to help them adjust and maintain viability.

The Focus areas, include financial support for impacted forestry businesses, business continuity, regional economic support, job preservation, transition to new operating models, business planning assistance, diversification of operations, downscaling support, and closure of historic business structures.

The NSW Government established this program to support businesses affected by the moratorium on harvesting in the Great Koala National Park. The primary aim is to assist those impacted by reduced timber supply and help them adapt to changing operational conditions.

The program seeks to ensure that, where possible, affected businesses can remain viable and continue contributing to regional economies. It also aims to help sustain employment in regions impacted by the changes in forestry operations.

Support under the program includes financial assistance for accessing professional business planning services. This helps businesses explore options for transitioning to new operating models in response to supply chain disruptions.

It also provides funding to support structural business changes, which may include diversifying operations, reducing business scale, or managing an orderly closure of existing business structures where necessary.

The grant amount available under the program is up to 275,000 dollars, offering significant financial support for eligible applicants.

To qualify, applicants must be impacted businesses that have either previously received approval under the Forestry Industry Supply Chain Grant Program or can demonstrate a significant reduction in revenue or increase in operating costs due to the harvesting moratorium. Eligible businesses must operate in Australia as a sole trader, partnership, trust, or company, hold an active Australian Business Number, and be registered with the Australian Taxation Office.
