RECREATION LAB XR – Venture Builder Advanced Program 2025 (Italy)

AlMaGi Group is inviting applications to participate in an acceleration program aimed at identifying 3 seed-stage startups with a focus on innovative projects linked to emerging immersive technologies that are functional for emulating a physical environment or world (Extended, Virtual, Augmented, Mixed reality, Edge cloud computing, artificial intelligence for machine learning, blockchain and Metaverse).

Projects can span multiple sectors, but must have new technologies as a common thread.

Priority will be given to business ideas with a team consisting of at least 51% women.

Funding Information

  • The program does not require equity and allows you to retain intellectual property and offers the top 3 selected seed stage startups:
    • a grant of €150,000.00 that can be requested starting from the end of the first month from the beginning of the program and which will be paid in 3 installments.
    • free participation in the acceleration program, with a total value of € 200,000.00, created by AlMaGi Group, Fifthingenium srls, MarshYellow, Convergo by Arcana srl, University of Porto (Portugal) and Complutense University Madrid (Spain) includes several benefits:
      • startups will have free access to the AlMaGi group co-working spaces, located in via Oberdan 22 in Bologna, to work in teams and develop their entrepreneurial idea. The spaces are equipped with all the technology necessary to accommodate work teams.
      • a path of support for the development of the startup and training on entrepreneurial skills and on the most relevant topics. The program will involve as speakers, experts from the world of economics and finance, business consultancy, and impact social, communication, intellectual property, financial tools and mentors.
      • Through frontal lessons and a series of dedicated one-to-one mentoring sessions, startups will acquire key skills in business creation, product valorization and product marketing, and will build a professional network, essential to face future market challenges.
      • Pool of mentors and coaching for direct startup support
      • Constant and continuous assessments to identify strengths and areas for improvement
      • Events during which startups will present a pitch of the entrepreneurial project potential investors and business angels

Program Duration

  • The program will last between 20 and 24 weeks and will take place in 2025 starting from 01 June 2025 until 31 December 2025 and will have as its core activities in presence the co-working spaces in Via Oberdan 22 in Bologna. Some of the activities will be carried out remotely.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The participation requirements must be met at the time of submitting the application and the following startups can participate in the program:
    • registered in the company register for no more than 60 months from the date of submission of the application for participation in the program, in any corporate legal form of small size (as defined in Annex 1 of EU Regulation no. 651/2014 which defines certain categories of aid compatible with the internal market in application of the Treaty on European Union) that meet these requirements:
      • are not listed on a regulated market or on a multilateral trading platform negotiation
      • they have not yet distributed profits
      • they were not formed as a result of a merger
      • are in full and free exercise of their rights, are not in voluntary liquidation nor subjected to bankruptcy proceedings
      • are in compliance with the provisions in force regarding building and urban planning regulations, work, accident prevention and environmental protection
      • are not among the companies that have received and subsequently not reimbursed or deposited in a blocked account, the aid identified as illegal or incompatible by the European Commission
      • they have returned benefits enjoyed for which the Ministry has issued an order of recovery
      • they have not been recipients of provisions for the total revocation of public benefits, for example except those resulting from waivers
      • are not in difficulty as defined in art. 2, sub 18 of EU Regulation no. 651/2014
      • have an operational headquarters within the Italian territory
  • Each proposer can nominate only one startup.
