The C-CAMP Bioincubation Programme invites national and international biotech startups, academic entrepreneurs, and companies to leverage its world-class bioincubation facilities and innovation ecosystem in India.
The programme focuses on providing access to ecosystem and network support, funding support, high-end technologies, mentoring programmes, plug-and-play research infrastructure, tissue culture facilities, molecular diagnostics facilities, microbial facilities, agriculture-focused facilities, med-tech facilities, biosafety laboratories, clean rooms, culture rooms, and advanced technology platforms to support innovative biotech ventures with high societal impact.
The Bio-incubator at C-CAMP is funded by BIRAC under the BioNest Scheme and by NITI Aayog under the Established Incubation Centre (EIC) AIM scheme. Supported by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, C-CAMP has developed a 44,000 sq. ft. high-end bio-incubation facility designed to support deep science and life sciences innovations. The programme aims to help startups overcome the resource-intensive and high-risk nature of biotech innovation by providing access to advanced laboratory infrastructure and a strong entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Over the years, C-CAMP has supported close to 200 resident incubatees and several virtual startups by offering access to cutting-edge technology platforms, workshops, seminars, mentorship sessions, networking opportunities, and funding support. The organisation has emerged as one of India’s leading hubs for high-tech life sciences innovation and has directly funded, mentored, or incubated more than 450 startups while being associated with over 2000 startups across the country.
The programme offers a “plug and play” model where startups receive fully equipped laboratory spaces, benchtop equipment, access to high-end standalone equipment, technology platforms, and biosafety facilities for BSL1 and BSL2 research activities. These facilities are designed to help startups initiate research operations without requiring immediate infrastructure investment or initial funding support.
C-CAMP also supports entrepreneurial growth through its investment programmes, mentorship and acceleration initiatives, and specialised programmes addressing unmet needs in areas such as maternal and child health, antimicrobial resistance, diagnostics, med-tech, agriculture, COVID-19, and digital health. With continued support from BIRAC BioNEST, NITI Aayog AIM, and the Government of Karnataka, the incubation programme continues to expand and upgrade its facilities to provide startups with access to advanced research and innovation infrastructure.
