Deadline Date: April 30, 2026
The QBE AcceliCITY Resilience Challenge is a six-month global accelerator that supports resilience-focused startups in transforming innovative solutions into real-world deployment.
Focus areas, objectives, priorities, and themes include helping innovators navigate public sector systems, build credibility with city leaders, accelerate pathways to implementation, secure non-dilutive funding, and borrow insights and expertise while advancing resilience solutions through PPP readiness certification, mentorship, and structured pilot deployment opportunities.
The program is designed as more than a traditional pitch competition, positioning itself as a deployment-focused accelerator that helps startups move beyond innovation into real municipal and community adoption. It addresses the common gap where strong solutions often stall between development and implementation due to limited access to city systems, procurement complexity, and lack of validation from government stakeholders.
Through its structure, the initiative connects entrepreneurs with global city leaders and provides expert mentorship to strengthen readiness for public-sector collaboration. Participants gain support in building credible case studies and establishing partnerships that can support pilot projects in real communities.
The challenge also offers non-dilutive funding, with a total prize pool of $175,000 USD to accelerate high-impact resilience solutions. At its core is a $100,000 Grand Prize, which is intended not only as recognition but also as a catalyst for real-world deployment, requiring part of the award to be used for implementing a pilot project in a community.
By combining funding, mentorship, certification, and access to municipal networks, the QBE AcceliCITY Resilience Challenge creates a structured pathway for innovators aiming to scale solutions that strengthen communities, infrastructure, and the environment.
