Deadline: 30 June 2024
Help supply chains reach net zero carbon emissions by finding affordable technologies to decarbonize the value chains by applying to the 100+ Accelerators Climate Action Challenge.
The 100+ Accelerator is launched by AB InBev to help the company reach its ambitious sustainability goals faster by finding startups that could deliver breakthrough advancements across five key sustainability pillars—water stewardship, smart agriculture, circular packaging, climate action and upcycling. In its first two cohorts, more than half of the startups secured long term contracts with AB InBev.
Solutions
They are looking for the following solutions:
- Energy Consumption and Monitoring
- Tools to collect data on energy consumption in supply and value chain and/or tools to measure and compare the environmental impact of projects and products
- High Efficiency Coolers to reduce the carbon footprint of old refrigerators or coolers. In particular, process coolers that can replace existing obsolete refrigeration or new environmentally friendly cooling technologies for retail
- Techniques and technologies to accelerate product cooling in retail environments and/or to significantly decrease energy consumption of commercial coolers while maintaining and/or increasing the stock capacity and the look & feel of the device
- Renewable & Alternative Energy Solutions
- Renewable heat solutions
- Alternatives to diesel generators for on-site power generation
- On-site Biodiesel generation as fuel supply to power generators
- Carbon Reduction, Capture & Removal
- Solutions to produce Carbon-based chemicals- esp C12-14 hydrocarbon chains- from captured C-gases.
- Solutions to produce carbon based chemicals which also drive permanent carbon capture (regenerative crops on land and oceans)
- Solutions for permanent carbon capture (blue carbon in areas with low marine flora)
- Business Case & Financial Analyses
- New financing structures/vehicles/solutions e.g., HPA or Heat as A Service
- Tools to assess financial risks to businesses due to climate change stressors
- Predictive analytics or modeling of climate and water impacts, new product simulations
- Green Logistics
- Payload loss in T1 EV transportation
- Tools for calculating and analyzing cost efficiency of EV/FCEV
- Renewable energy technology with super high efficiency for trucking, rail, ocean and air including biofuel, electric, wind, solar and water – that are accessible for the entire market
- Digitalization and automation of energy consumption
- Master control systems for automated combination of different heat sources for heat supply in production (fossil + renewable)
- Energy spot market optimization – control consumption based on market signals and optimize consumption based on different criteria
- Predictive and self-learning tools for optimizing energy consumption (e.g., digital twins etc.)
Benefits
The 100+ Accelerator will provide support, guidance and access to potential funding through:
- Pilot customer opportunities with the four corporate partners: AB InBev, Coca-Cola, Colgate Palmolive, Danone and Unilever (including the potential to scale company-wide)
- Active mentorship, training and programming in product development, go-to-market, operations, sales and more
- Top mentor network of scientists, academics, domain experts, venture capitalists, corporate sustainability leaders, etc.
- Potential funding from Partner Companies and their networks
Criteria
- Open to all: challenges were developed with input from subject matter experts from the partner companies around the world to make sure they are focused on local issues that need to be addressed. They are seeking startups from around the world to answer the challenges and are eager to identify technologies and best practices that can be shared across the businesses and beyond.
- Other companies that share the common vision are welcome to join the 100+ Accelerator as a partner in the future. They want to become the leading Accelerator for sustainability, driving innovation and value creation, and this can only be achieved by true collaboration with others.
