This funding opportunity, provided by the Australian Government through the Port Kembla Community Investment Fund, supports projects that revitalise and energise Port Kembla and surrounding areas for the benefit of the community and its visitors.
The focus areas of the opportunity are environmental infrastructure and pollution control and clean up works, public domain parks, cycleways, community facilities and tourism facilities, port related community infrastructure including boat ramps, services and access, business infrastructure or expansion such as fixed equipment, facilities and utilities, heritage restoration or interpretive works for land, buildings or equipment, activation including place making projects and community and tourism-based events, smart technology or innovation including smart public amenities or facilities, and other high-quality projects that foster stronger community bonds, enhance accessibility, boost visitation, increase participation in cultural and artistic life, or enhance public, environmental, or business infrastructure with demonstrated public or community benefit.
The Port Kembla Community Investment Fund Round 6 offers funding between $10,000 and $250,000 to support impactful projects that deliver visible benefits to the local population and visitors. The program aims to strengthen the region through developments and initiatives designed to enhance long-term social, cultural and environmental outcomes.
Eligible applicants must have an Australian Business Number or Australian Company Number, or be registered under the Associations Incorporation Act 2009. Applicants must also be financially viable, not insolvent, be a fit and proper legal entity and hold or commit to obtaining the required public liability insurance.
The program encourages the submission of proposals that deliver tangible improvements to Port Kembla and its neighbouring communities. Through this support, organisations can implement initiatives that enrich community spaces, upgrade services and facilities, promote cultural engagement and improve the overall experience for residents and visitors.
