The Market Access Catalyst Grant (MACG) 2025 is now open to support Penang-based tech startups in enhancing commercialization efforts and expanding into new markets.
The MACG 2025 is designed to empower tech startups in Penang with the resources and guidance needed to scale their businesses. Eligible startups are those registered with SSM as Sdn. Bhd. or LLP and have been operating for at least six months with a commercialized solution already in the market.
Selected participants will receive RM30,000 in grant funding to accelerate their market entry and commercialization strategies. Startups are expected to commit an internal budget of RM6,000 to activate the grant, ensuring a shared commitment to achieving project goals.
The grant is milestone-based, with disbursement linked to revenue targets, allowing startups to strategically plan and execute their growth initiatives. Participants will have the opportunity to build market traction, secure strategic business partnerships, access new market segments, and drive customer acquisition and revenue growth with confidence.
Applications must include the startup’s SSM registration, audited accounts or bank statements, and any relevant licenses. Shortlisted startups will be invited to pitch online to an independent selection committee. All applications must be submitted by 7 October 2025.
