Deadline: November 05, 2025
The 1st BRICS STI Framework Programme Innovation Call 2025 aims to foster new cooperative ties for high-tech and innovation-driven institutions within BRICS, providing a critical catalyst for economic development and improved quality of life for people in BRICS nations.
The focus of this call is on building partnerships to jointly prepare proposals for collaborative R&D projects addressing societal challenges through innovation. The themes include technology maturation, commercialisation, market deployment across all technology areas, and projects must be based on validated, scalable, and demonstrated technologies.
This call invites researchers, innovators, SMMEs, and universities from BRICS member countries to participate in multinational R&D projects. Proposals must involve partnerships with at least two BRICS countries, including legally registered entities from South Africa and another BRICS member. Projects are designed to span up to three years, focusing on turning innovative ideas into impactful solutions with expected impacts across technological, economic, and societal spheres. Funding will be allocated according to each participant institution’s guidelines. Non-fundable activities include early-stage research projects, student bursaries, extended research work, and equipment outside budget constraints.
Applicants are required to submit a national funding application to their respective national funding body and also submit a Joint Application Form to the BRICS STI Framework Programme Secretariat through an online system by November 5, 2025, at 15:00 Moscow Time. The process supports a two-stage submission to facilitate seamless multinational collaboration.
