The West Oxfordshire Business Boost Grant supports businesses in West Oxfordshire to grow, diversify, and build resilience through capital investment.
The focus areas are drive growth and productivity in enterprises, support diversification and innovation across sectors, promote environmental sustainability and low-carbon practices, stimulate job creation and strengthen the workforce, and improve access to markets, infrastructure, and digital tools.
This grant programme is funded by the Rural England Prosperity Fund (REPF) under the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and offers capital-only funding for tangible, long-term assets that support business productivity, diversification, or innovation, have a minimum 5-year lifespan, and offer clear benefits to the rural economy. Eligible costs include upgrades to IT infrastructure and digital tools, installation of energy-efficient lighting, insulation, or HVAC systems, accessibility improvements to premises, equipment for creative industries, tools and machinery for trades, cold storage units for food and drink businesses, facilities for training or community engagement, and sustainable transport solutions such as electric delivery vehicles or bike fleets.
The total grant fund is £25,000, with individual grants up to £5,000, requiring applicants to provide a minimum 25% match funding contribution. All projects must be completed by 28 February 2026, and businesses must be based within West Oxfordshire District to be eligible. Certain costs are excluded, including revenue or operational expenses, retrospective costs, planning permission or building regulations fees, and projects funded by specific Defra schemes. Businesses under administration or insolvency are also excluded, as are projects that relate primarily to domestic accommodation.
