Deadline: October 18, 2025
The World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) and Global Resilience Partnership (GRP) have launched the Climate Resilience Awards for Business to spotlight companies that advance climate resilience through innovative approaches, collaboration, and measurable impact across operations, supply chains, and communities.
The focus areas of the Climate Resilience Awards for Business include climate change, finance, and markets. The awards aim to recognise innovative solutions that strengthen resilience in communities, ecosystems, and economies through business action, promote collaboration between organisations, governments, and businesses in driving sustainable resilience practices, and showcase exemplary efforts that inspire others to adopt resilience-focused strategies with practical ‘how to’s and lessons learned.
The awards seek to identify and celebrate businesses taking action to assess and ensure future resilience to climate change and broader physical risks for themselves, their supply chains, and their communities. Award categories include the Strategic Leadership in Resilience Award, recognising businesses integrating resilience across operations, trialling innovative resilience solutions, improving value chain resilience, or demonstrating outstanding individual commitment. The Partnerships and Collaboration Award honours collaborations that demonstrate successful public-private cooperation with authorities in planning or implementing adaptation actions, while the SME Award recognises small businesses achieving excellence in any of the above categories.
Finalists are evaluated by a judging panel of external experts from the business and resilience communities based on innovation, potential for measurable impact, and sustainability to ensure long-term viability and scalability of initiatives.
Participation is open to businesses of any sector, size, or region, including SMEs, and there is no fee to enter. Submissions must be recent case studies that meet all award requirements and can be supported with requested data. The submission window is open from 3rd September until 18th October, with finalists notified within two weeks to prepare for the award announcements ahead of COP30.
Participating companies contribute to global adaptation goals, support the COP30 Action Agenda, and help demonstrate tangible non-state actor implementation of climate resilience. Individual benefits for finalists and winners include online recognition through GRP, WBCSD, and partner digital platforms, inclusion in case studies and best-practice reports, networking opportunities at high-profile public events including COP30, and inspiration for other businesses to replicate successful resilience strategies.
