Focus Areas
- The UKSPF – Green Growth & Innovation Fund 25-26 supports projects in two key areas:
- UKSPF – Green Growth: Helps businesses to reduce their carbon footprints, increase energy efficiency, adopt sustainable practices, and reduce operating costs (e.g., adopting green transport solutions, LED lighting, solar panels, insulation, heating pumps, waste reduction technologies, sustainable materials, water efficiency measures, and associated digital solutions for environmental management).
- UKSPF – Innovation Support: Support for new or significantly improved products, services, processes, or business models within your business to help improve efficiencies, enhance competitiveness, and create business growth (e.g., development of new technologies, adoption of advanced digital solutions like AI or IoT, software & hardware for innovation, mobile app development for new services, digital training for innovative processes, and research and development activities).
Funding Information
- £40,000 has been allocated to this project under the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
- The application must be for a grant of between £500 and £2,000.
Primary Outcomes
- This scheme will support Harborough district businesses to invest in projects that will support them to achieve green growth and foster innovation. All applicants are encouraged to get in touch with the Economic Development Team at Harborough District Council and engage with the fully funded Harborough District Business Advice Service. Applicants must apply under one of the following streams for the 25-26 financial year:
- UKSPF – Green Growth:
- Applications under the Green Growth stream must demonstrate that you have contacted Greener Futures Leicestershire for sustainability advice. This ensures that your project aligns with best practice and contributes meaningfully to a greener, more resilient Harborough district.
- UKSPF – Innovation Support
- UKSPF – Green Growth:
Eligibility Criteria
- The project and business must be based in the Harborough District.
- There is no starting date from which businesses must have been trading to qualify for grant funding. Start-up businesses are also able to apply.
- Any business type can apply, sole traders, partnerships, limited companies, CICs, and social enterprises etc. although not charities.
- For the purposes of this grant scheme, a business is trading if it is engaged in business activity. This should be interpreted as carrying on a trade/ profession or buying and selling goods or services in order to generate turnover. Fully constituted businesses in liquidation, dissolved, struck off or subject to a striking-off notice are not eligible under these conditions.
- Organisations that received a grant in the 24-25 financial year under a Harborough UKSPF business grant scheme can apply, however, organisations that did not will take priority.
Ineligibility Criteria
- Organisations that are in administration, insolvent or where a striking-off notice has been made, are not eligible for funding under this scheme.
