The SME Enhance Grant Scheme has announced its applications to support productive investments by micro, small and medium-sized enterprises to help them expand, diversify, innovate their operations and undertake initial investments.
The scheme falls under Policy Objective 1, which promotes a more competitive and smarter Europe through innovative and smart economic transformation and regional ICT connectivity. Its priorities include promoting entrepreneurship by facilitating the economic exploitation of new ideas and fostering the creation of new firms, reaping the benefits of digitisation for citizens, companies, research organisations and public authorities, and enhancing the sustainable growth, competitiveness, and job creation of SMEs through productive investments.
The scheme has an initial budget of €6,000,000 and operates as an open rolling call with periodic cut-off dates. Funding ranges from a minimum grant of €10,000 to a maximum grant of €128,400 for eligible actions, including an additional 7% flat rate to cover indirect costs related to the investment.
Eligible applicants are micro, small and medium-sized enterprises engaged in an economic activity, regardless of their legal form. For the Start-up category, eligible applicants are micro and small start-ups engaged in an economic activity. Undertakings without legal personality must be registered under the Second Schedule of the Civil Code.
The scheme is not available to undertakings subject to collective insolvency proceedings, those with outstanding recovery orders, undertakings that have not complied with recovery orders issued by MSD, or those excluded under the de minimis aid regulation. It also excludes undertakings that directly or indirectly provide, develop, or retail the eligible expenditure, businesses whose principal activities fall under agriculture, forestry and fishing, certain processing and marketing of agricultural products, and undertakings primarily involved in the manufacturing, processing, or marketing of tobacco and tobacco products.
