The United Nations Development Programme is inviting grant applications to strengthen agricultural resilience and support the sustainable transformation of Lebanon’s agri-food sector.
The grant focuses on climate-smart infrastructure, irrigation, renewable energy, processing equipment, storage facilities, food safety improvements, certification, packaging, marketing activities, rehabilitation of damaged assets, and raw materials to support the recovery and sustainable transformation of the agricultural sector.
Implemented by UNDP under the Green Agri-food Transformation for Economic Recovery (GATE) project, the grant supports farmers’ associations working directly with farmers and producer groups.
The GATE project is signed between the Lebanese Government, represented by the Council for Development and Reconstruction (CDR), and the World Bank. The project aims to improve the resilience of farmers and small and medium enterprises in the Lebanese agri-food sector.
Eligible applicants are legally registered farmers’ associations operating in Lebanon and working directly with farmers and producer groups. Applicants must have at least two cumulative years of operation since 2019, excluding conflict-related disruptions, and demonstrate relevant experience in the agriculture or agri-food sectors.
Farmers’ associations can receive grants of up to USD 35,000. A matching contribution is required for eligible applicants.
Selected grantees will also receive technical assistance. The implementation period for supported activities is up to 8 months.
