Deadline Date: July 31, 2026
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), in partnership with the Ministry of Environmental Protection of the Republic of Serbia and with support from the Global Environment Facility (GEF), has launched a Public Call for Circular Solutions for Communities in Serbia to promote the green transition through circular economy initiatives.
The call focuses on advancing the circular economy at the local level through improving public spaces, developing circular public services, using renewable energy for public benefit, promoting product reuse and repair, supporting sharing and exchange models, reducing food loss and waste in the hospitality sector, educational institutions, and public kitchens, and implementing other solutions aligned with circular economy principles. The supported initiatives should contribute to the objectives of the Circular Economy Development Programme of the Republic of Serbia for the Period 2026–2030 and its Action Plan.
The opportunity is open to local self-government units, public utility companies, private sector entities, research and educational institutions, civil society organizations, professional associations, and foundations. Applications may be submitted individually or through a consortium.
Selected initiatives may receive financial support of up to USD 40,000 each, with a total funding budget of USD 180,000. The call may close earlier if the available funding is fully requested through eligible applications.
The call is implemented under the project Reducing the Carbon Footprint of Local Communities through the Application of Circular Economy Principles in the Republic of Serbia – Circular Communities, led by UNDP in partnership with the Ministry of Environmental Protection of the Republic of Serbia and financed by the Global Environment Facility.
