Deadline Date: September 07, 2026
The Ignite Program Stream B offers competitive grants of up to $15,000 to support Northern Territory businesses in developing and commercialising innovative products or services, with a focus on progressing validated innovations towards market entry or investment readiness.
The Ignite Program is a Northern Territory Government initiative designed to strengthen the region’s innovation ecosystem by supporting the development and commercialisation of innovative ideas among local businesses and start-ups. The program aims to foster economic growth, employment, and industry development within the Territory by building a pipeline of investible early-stage ventures.
Stream B of the Ignite Program specifically targets businesses that have already validated their innovation and are ready to undertake practical development or commercialisation activities. This stream provides financial support for activities such as minimum viable product (MVP) development, prototype refinement, product testing, customer or market validation, technical development, specialist professional advice, intellectual property protection, regulatory compliance, and commercialisation planning.
Eligible applicants must be Northern Territory businesses that have completed an Innovation Project Plan (IPP) through Stream A or possess an equivalent document, and must propose a project and budget directly related to the validated innovation. Funding is awarded on a competitive basis, with successful recipients required to complete their projects within six months of approval. Ineligible expenditures include retrospective costs, unrelated business expenses, wages not directly tied to the project, debt repayment, land or building purchases, and activities already funded by other government programs.
