The Feasibility Studies Grant Scheme is now accepting applications to support enterprises in Malta by funding research into the viability and sustainability of new business ideas.
The focus areas include feasibility studies, business viability assessment, research and innovation, entrepreneurship, smart specialisation, health and well-being, sustainable resource use, climate change mitigation and adaptation, smart manufacturing, marine and maritime technology, aviation and aerospace, and future digital technologies.
The Feasibility Study scheme is designed to help enterprises assess the potential success of new business or research ideas by supporting the cost of feasibility research. It enables businesses to draw clear conclusions about viability while identifying the resources needed for implementation.
The scheme aims to strengthen Malta’s research and innovation ecosystem by encouraging investment in R&I activities. It supports the development of innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship in line with Malta’s Smart Specialisation Strategy for 2021–2027.
Investment under this scheme contributes to Policy Objective 1 of the SFC2021 Programme 2021–2027, promoting a more competitive and smarter Europe through innovation and digital transformation. It also supports the development of research and innovation capacities and the adoption of advanced technologies.
The scheme will remain active until 31 December 2026, subject to available funding. The total budget allocated is €2,000,000, with a maximum grant of up to €100,000 per undertaking.
Eligible applicants include micro, small, medium-sized, and small mid-cap enterprises engaged in economic activity, subject to legal and regulatory requirements. All applicants must be properly registered under applicable national laws.
