The Business Reports for SMEs Grant Scheme is currently accepting applications to support SMEs in Malta by funding external consultancy services that improve decision-making and competitiveness.
The focus areas include business reports, business planning, process and systems reviews, external consultancy services, SME competitiveness, operational efficiency, sustainable growth, entrepreneurship, and productivity improvement.
The Business Reports for SMEs scheme is designed to support enterprises that have limited internal resources and need external expertise to produce key business documents. It provides financial assistance for consultancy services that help SMEs make informed investment and operational decisions.
The scheme funds the preparation of business reports, including business plans and process or systems reviews, with the aim of improving efficiency and strengthening competitiveness. It helps enterprises identify opportunities for better performance and more effective operations.
This grant scheme falls under Policy Objective 1 of the SFC2021 Programme 2021–2027, which promotes a more competitive and smarter Europe through innovation, smart economic transformation, and improved connectivity. It also supports the growth and competitiveness of SMEs and job creation through productive investments.
The scheme will remain operational until 31 December 2026, subject to available funding. It has an allocated budget of €1,500,000, with a lump sum grant of €4,000 per application, covering up to 80% of eligible costs.
Eligible applicants include micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises engaged in economic activity, subject to legal requirements and exclusions. All applicants must be properly registered under applicable legislation.
