The National Arts and Culture Awards is a recognition initiative dedicated to honouring exceptional talent, artistic excellence, and innovation within South Africa’s creative industry.
The focus areas, of the awards include recognizing outstanding artistic and technical achievement, celebrating creativity and innovation, honouring contributions to the creative sector, promoting excellence across cultural domains, establishing a prestigious national award platform, creating meaningful engagement within the arts community, and delivering memorable experiences that elevate the status of the creative industry.
The National Arts and Culture Awards, also known as NACA, aims to become the most desired recognition in South Africa’s creative sector. The awards are presented to leading creatives across various creative categories and subdomains who demonstrate exceptional talent, dedication, and achievement in their respective fields.
The initiative recognizes individuals who continually push the boundaries of their creative abilities and maintain high standards of quality, originality, and innovation. Through this recognition, the awards seek to celebrate those whose work stands out within the creative landscape.
The Department of Sport, Arts and Culture intends to confer these awards annually in appreciation of outstanding contributions to the creative sector. Recipients are selected through an adjudication and judging process conducted by the National Arts and Culture Awards panel.
The vision of the awards is to become the leading award brand across entertainment platforms in South Africa, recognize and honour talented creatives, create positive impact for artists and audiences, and build an aspirational brand that strengthens engagement and appreciation for the arts.
