Deadline Date: September 01, 2026
The Visitor Event Grant Programme is currently accepting applications to support businesses and organisations delivering visitor events and activities for public participation in Harborough District, helping to strengthen the local economy and enhance community experiences.
The grant focuses on developing and improving visitor activities and visitor event services, increasing public participation, supporting new and existing visitor events, enhancing visitor experiences, and generating benefits for the local economy and community.
Eligible organisations may apply for grants ranging from a minimum of £500 to a maximum of £2,000 per application. In exceptional circumstances, higher awards may be considered at the discretion of the Council. No match funding is required.
Funding can only be used for revenue projects, meaning support is available for operational and day-to-day business costs rather than capital expenditure on lasting assets such as buildings or equipment. Projects must involve new spending, as costs incurred before submitting an application are not eligible.
Applicants must operate or provide visitor event services in Harborough District. Eligible applicants include micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises employing between 1 and 249 staff, as well as community and voluntary organisations that do not employ staff. Sole traders, partnerships, limited companies, community interest companies, social enterprises, local parish councils, and registered charities are also eligible to apply.
Applicants must use the funding solely for business or organisational purposes and provide assurances that all necessary permissions, including planning approvals, freeholder consent, and licensing requirements, are in place before applying. Applicants must also submit two quotations for each proposed item of expenditure and provide a copy of a bank statement matching the account into which the grant will be paid.
