Deadline Date: July 09, 2026
The Event Grants and Sponsorship Program is inviting applications to support innovative community events that promote participation and celebrate local culture on the Northern Beaches.
The focus areas of this program include community participation, cultural and social events, environmental sustainability, community wellbeing, social inclusion, vibrant local economy, cultural development, event innovation, capacity building for local organisations, and sustainable event delivery.
This program is designed to support both new and existing events that contribute to a diverse and vibrant calendar of local activities. It aims to strengthen community engagement while enhancing the cultural and social fabric of villages and town centres.
The program is guided by strategic priorities that focus on environmental sustainability, community belonging, and the development of a vibrant local economy. It seeks to promote responsible resource management, inclusive participation, and opportunities for cultural and social life across all community groups.
Council supports events that align with goals related to sustainability leadership, cultural development, and social cohesion. It encourages innovative ideas that build the capacity of local creative communities and expand opportunities for interaction, wellbeing, and engagement across all stages of life.
Funding under this program can be requested for varying amounts, depending on the scope and justification of the event. While general event funding is typically capped at $10,000, average grants are around $4,000, with higher funding of up to $50,000 available for large-scale events demonstrating significant economic, social, and stakeholder impact.
Applicants must demonstrate strong community benefits, financial accountability, and compliance with eligibility requirements. Organisations may include incorporated entities, individuals or businesses with an ABN, or community groups supported by eligible sponsors or auspices.
Applicants must also demonstrate proper registration or entity verification and must not have outstanding debts or unresolved grant obligations with Council. Previous grant recipients must have properly acquitted all funding before applying again.
The program aims to support events in becoming financially sustainable over time, and funding is unlikely to cover full event costs unless a clear path to long-term independence is demonstrated.
