The NIDHI SEED Support Scheme provides seed funding and incubation support to early-stage Indian startups to develop and commercialize innovative solutions.
The focus areas of this scheme include seed funding support for startups, incubation support services, early-stage innovation development, life sciences startups, commercialization of technologies, startup scaling support, access to investment readiness, and bridging support between development and market entry.
This scheme is designed to provide financial assistance along with access to incubation services such as space, knowledge, and technical support for startups in their initial stages. It aims to help startups progress from idea development to commercialization and prepare them for further investment opportunities.
The program offers investment support ranging from ₹25 lakhs to ₹1 crore for eligible startups. It focuses on helping incubatee startups strengthen their business foundations and move towards attracting funding from angel investors, venture capitalists, or financial institutions.
The scheme is open to Indian startups working in the life sciences sector and requires applicants to be resident incubatees at C-CAMP or willing to become resident incubatees there. Selected startups must complete at least three months of incubation at C-CAMP before receiving seed funding.
Eligible applicants must be registered companies in India with at least 51 percent Indian promoter shareholding. The scheme does not apply to subsidiaries of multinational or foreign companies, although OCI and PIO holders are treated as Indian citizens for eligibility purposes.
The objectives of the scheme include ensuring timely availability of seed support to deserving startups, enabling them to scale their ventures effectively, and helping incubators expand their pipeline of startups while supporting their long-term sustainability.
