The TÜBİTAK is requesting grant applications to support collaborative research between Türkiye and Slovakia by bringing together scientists from both countries to work on shared thematic priorities.
The Focus areas, include bilateral scientific cooperation, access to complementary research environments, scientific knowledge exchange, research infrastructure collaboration, basic and applied research, health, artificial intelligence in health applications, pharmaceuticals, sensor technologies, ICT for quality of life, biomaterials, nanomaterials, functional materials, climate change, environment, biodiversity, and societal transformation.
The primary objective of the call is to foster international scientific cooperation by enabling researchers from both countries to collaborate effectively. It is designed to improve research quality by combining expertise, facilities, and knowledge from partner institutions.
The program also aims to enhance the translation of research outcomes into economic and societal benefits, ensuring that scientific findings contribute meaningfully to innovation and real-world applications.
Project proposals under this call are expected to focus on either basic or applied research, with a strong emphasis on addressing one of the specified thematic areas. Proposals outside these thematic domains are not considered eligible for evaluation.
Funding is available for collaborative projects involving Turkish and Slovak partners. Turkish participants may receive up to 3,750,000 Turkish Liras per project, while eligible Slovak partners can receive up to 120,000 euros per project for a duration of up to 36 months. The overall indicative budget supports multiple research collaborations. The indicative overall budget for the program is 360,000 euros, which is allocated to support three research projects under the Slovak Science Academy framework.
All projects must include at least one eligible Slovak research institute from the Slovak Academy of Sciences and one Turkish institution eligible under TÜBİTAK regulations. The main applicant from Slovakia must be employed by a Slovak Academy of Sciences institute or centre, with specific employment conditions required for team members.
The duration of each project is limited to a maximum of 36 months, ensuring structured collaboration and timely completion of research objectives.
