Deadline Date: May 14, 2026
The United Nations Development Programme is inviting applications to identify private entities that can support development work through Sharia-compliant microfinance services for savings groups and MSMEs.
The focus areas of this initiative include provision of Sharia-compliant microloans to savings groups and micro, small, and medium enterprises, development of financial inclusion mechanisms, support for economic empowerment through microfinance services, and expansion of access to financial services across multiple regions within Afghanistan.
This RFI is designed to identify private sector entities capable of partnering with UNDP to deliver development outputs related to inclusive finance. It emphasizes the importance of supporting savings groups and MSMEs through Sharia-compliant financial products, ensuring that services align with both development goals and local financial requirements.
The initiative covers geographic engagement across Afghanistan, including the Central, Central Highland, North, Northeastern, Southeastern, Southern, Western, and Eastern regions. Interested entities are expected to demonstrate either physical presence or operational capacity across these areas to ensure effective service delivery.
Applicants are required to complete a detailed questionnaire and provide supporting documentation for all responses. International entities must also submit valid permits and licenses confirming their legal presence in Afghanistan. All submitted information must directly address the requested questions, as alignment with UNDP requirements will be assessed based on clarity and relevance of the responses provided.
