The Ideation Programme is a year-long startup support initiative designed to help tech-focused entrepreneurs develop and transform innovative ideas into viable businesses.
The focus areas of the programme include startup development, business model creation, innovation, research and development, market validation, pitching skills, investment readiness, and entrepreneurial ecosystem support for early-stage tech ventures.
The programme is designed to support individuals and teams in building strong foundations for their startup journey. It provides structured guidance, mentorship, and resources to help participants refine their ideas, develop business models, and prepare for investment opportunities.
Participants are evaluated based on team competency, business development potential, innovativeness, and research and development capacity. The programme emphasizes practical learning and supports entrepreneurs in progressing from idea stage to early business development.
The programme offers seed funding of up to HKD 100,000 to support startup growth. It also provides coaching through account managers who guide participants throughout their journey, along with training in areas such as market validation, business modelling, and pitching. Participants gain access to co-working spaces subject to availability and are connected to the wider startup ecosystem through nomination to incubation programmes.
Eligibility is open to individuals aged 18 and above holding an HKID, companies incorporated in Hong Kong for less than two years, and teams that commit to incorporating a Hong Kong company within two weeks of approval. Applicants must have an innovative idea supported by research and business planning.
