Deadline Date: April 16, 2026
The European Commission is accepting applications to support research and innovation efforts to strengthen prevention, early detection, and personalised care.
The initiative aims to enhance collaboration among stakeholders, improve evidence for prevention and treatment through advanced and personalised tools, promote the adoption of innovative technologies like AI and Virtual Human Twins, and support inclusive risk prediction approaches while strengthening health literacy and cross-sectoral innovation in cardiovascular care.
The topic addresses the growing burden of cardiovascular diseases by supporting the development of a Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda that builds on existing research and translates innovation into practical healthcare solutions. Proposals are expected to review current research and healthcare innovations at national, European, and international levels to identify gaps and opportunities for integration into health systems. This includes examining disparities related to sex and gender and ensuring more inclusive research approaches.
The funding generally requires a financial capacity check for coordinators requesting EUR 500,000 or more, except for public bodies, international organisations, or low-value grants not exceeding EUR 60,000. Participation is open to any legal entity worldwide, including organisations from non-associated countries and international organisations, provided they meet Horizon Europe eligibility conditions and register for a Participant Identification Code. Affiliated entities and associated partners may also participate under specified conditions, and entities without legal personality may be eligible if they can assume legal obligations and provide financial guarantees.
