Startmate Accelerator Program for Startups (Australia and New Zealand)

Deadline Date: November 10, 2026

The Startmate Accelerator is a 12-week program designed to help startups accelerate growth through investment, mentorship, customer-focused development, and fundraising support in Australia.

The program focuses on fast-tracking startup growth, providing AUD $120,000 investment, connecting founders with mentors and investors, building better products with more users, strengthening fundraising strategies, creating access to talented operators, encouraging customer obsession, and supporting founders through a collaborative startup community.

The Startmate Accelerator supports founders who want to grow their companies quickly by helping them focus on building products that customers truly want. Through the 12-week program, participating startups work closely with experienced founders, operators, and investors from across Australia and New Zealand.

A major aspect of the accelerator is the opportunity for founders to connect with other ambitious entrepreneurs who are facing similar challenges. The program aims to create a strong network where founders can learn from peers as well as experienced startup leaders who have previously participated in the accelerator.

Selected startups receive AUD $120,000 in investment. For founders who have not previously raised capital, the investment is offered at a AUD $1.5 million post-money valuation. For startups that have already raised funding, Startmate matches the terms and valuation of their previous round, provided certain conditions are met.

The accelerator also gives startups access to a network of more than 4,000 founders, operators, and investors across the ANZ startup ecosystem. Participants can connect with talent, mentors, venture capital firms, and angel investors through the Startmate community.

Another key component of the program is fundraising support. Startmate works with founders to improve fundraising strategies, strengthen investor pitches, and connect startups with suitable investors, including opportunities in the United States.

The program places strong emphasis on customer conversations and product development. Founders are encouraged to spend the accelerator period listening to customers, learning from feedback, and refining products to better meet market needs.

To qualify for valuation matching, startups must have previously raised at least AUD $250,000 from venture capital or angel investors, excluding funding from friends and family. The investment documents from the previous round must also be fully executed before interview invitations are issued.
