Eligibility Criteria
- By maintaining appropriate eligibility criteria, they can fulfill their mission of helping young people take their first steps in the world of social entrepreneurship. Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- To ensure that their program is youth-oriented, applicants and their core team members must be between 15 and 30 years old.
- They accept both unimplemented ideas and ideas that are in the early stages of implementation. However, ideas in the early stages of implementation can only be submitted if the project was created after January 1 of the previous year.
- Prior to submitting their application, applicant projects must not have received significant philanthropic funding. The latter is defined as official grants from external sources exceeding 3,000 Euros (e.g. angel investments, grants, prize money, etc.).
- The applicant must not have participated in the SIA incubation with the same idea with which they applied, and must not have won the Social Impact Award in previous years.
Selection Process
- Application review
- Their local SIA staff reviews all applications to ensure they meet the program’s official criteria.
- Jury selection
- Their jury, consisting of experts from the private, public and civil society sectors, evaluates applications based on their criteria: potential impact, degree of innovation, feasibility.
- Announcement of the finalists
- Their staff will announce the finalists who will be eligible for incubation during an online event.
- Feedback on the application
- Their staff will provide all applicants (not just finalists) with feedback regarding their application.
