The Innovation Challenge is seeking applications to support the development of technology-based solutions that address priority public sector challenges in Saskatchewan.
The programme focuses on developing technology-based solutions for public sector challenges, supporting the co-development and testing of practical solutions in real-world settings, providing early-stage funding, creating pilot opportunities, and helping innovators move ideas from concept to implementation with a clear pathway to market.
The Innovation Challenge is delivered by Innovation Saskatchewan to connect Saskatchewan innovators with government and public sector partners. Through this collaboration, participants can develop and test innovative solutions that respond to specific challenges identified by the government.
Each challenge is designed to address a particular public sector problem while providing startups with opportunities to validate their technologies and prepare them for market adoption. The programme aims to support practical innovation that can be implemented in real-world environments.
Successful applicants may receive funding of up to $30,000 per startup. Participants also benefit from working with a public sector partner to validate and scale their solutions while accessing pilot opportunities and potential market growth.
To be eligible, applicants must be based in Saskatchewan by having a Saskatchewan head office, being registered to do business in the province, or having at least 50 per cent of their employees residing in Saskatchewan.
