Deadline: September 16, 2026
The European Commission is inviting applications to support research and innovation activities to strengthen Europe’s capabilities in advanced 6G radio communication systems.
The call focuses on transmitter and power amplification technologies, receiver technologies, advanced filter solutions, transceiver development, integration and packaging, sustainability-focused designs, and advanced antenna systems. It aims to address challenges related to high efficiency and performance, energy-efficient designs, advanced semiconductor integration, beamforming technologies, massive MIMO systems, and AI-driven antenna control processes.
The initiative supports the development of key radio communication technologies for future 6G systems through research activities addressing FEM constituent technologies.
The funding available under this call is €20,000,000, with individual project funding ranging from €1,000,000 to €20,000,000.
Eligibility conditions are described in Annex 1 to the multiannual work programme 2023–2027 “HORIZON Europe conditions applicable to the Chips JU”. Participation is limited to legal entities established in EU Member States, EEA Countries, Associated Countries, OECD countries, and Mercosur countries.
Entities established in eligible countries but directly or indirectly controlled by non-eligible countries or entities must provide approved guarantees demonstrating that their participation will not negatively impact the Union’s strategic interests, assets, autonomy, or security.
Entities identified as high-risk suppliers of mobile network communication equipment, or entities owned or controlled by such suppliers, cannot submit guarantees and are not eligible to participate.
