The Agri-Food Tech incubator is a support structure for startups in the agricultural and agri-food sector developed jointly by UM6P and IAV Hassan II.
The incubator targets all disciplines linked to the agricultural sector such as intelligent agriculture, animal production and health, etc.
Its main mission is to help young people with innovative ideas and high potential to create start-ups and develop into sustainable and productive businesses, thus contributing to the improvement of agriculture and rural development in Morocco, in accordance with the new Generation Green strategy (2020-2030).
Support offered to entrepreneurs includes mentoring, business and technical training, fundraising assistance, networking and a host of visibility and promotion opportunities for startups.
MissionĀ
The mission of the Agri-Food Tech incubator revolves around the following axes:
- Develop culture and entrepreneurship among Moroccan students, laureates and researchers;
- Participate in promoting the research work of national higher education and research establishments;
- Contribute to the emergence of successful startups in the field of agribusiness and agritech in Morocco;
- Support the establishment of a community of practice in the field of agricultural and agri-food entrepreneurship made up of actors and partners from the academic, economic, societal and governmental spheres.
Vision
- The creation of the Agri-Food Tech incubator is part of the national vision of inclusive, sustainable and innovation-driven agricultural development, capable of meeting the objectives of the new development model and the Generation Green strategy.
Offers
- Mentoring
- Qualified experts based in Morocco and abroad will participate in mentoring. Both partners will mobilize their resources and call on their national and international partners to facilitate these mentoring efforts.
- Formation
- The training of the incubates will take place according to a schedule determined and validated in advance by the two partners.
- Help with fundraising
- The incubator will offer advice on obtaining grants and implementing a suitable financing strategy.
- Market access
- A multitude of opportunities for market access and visibility through the organization of demonstration days and bootcamps, during which project leaders will have the opportunity to present their work to a series of companies and farmers, likely to collaborate with them.
- Access to the UM6P and IAV infrastructure
- Entrepreneurs will have access to the infrastructures of UM6P and IAV Hassan II, such as the StartGate startup campus, the experimental farm and the laboratories of the two institutions.
