The CATAL1.5°T initiative has opened the call for applications for the second cohort of its West Africa Pre-Acceleration Program, inviting climate tech entrepreneurs in Francophone West Africa to apply.
The program is designed to help entrepreneurs develop their climate solutions from prototype to market-ready products, accelerating their journey toward real-world impact.
Aims
- By combining technical assistance with financial support, the initiative aims to build a pipeline of high-potential ventures capable of attracting venture capital and achieving megaton-scale CO₂ emission reductions.

Eligibility Criteria
- Eligible applicants must:
- Be a climate venture or valid project based in Benin, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Guinea, Mauritania, Niger, Senegal, or Togo
- Have fewer than 50 employees and generate less than USD 3 million in annual revenue
- Offer solutions that reduce CO₂ emissions in one of the following sectors:
- Energy access & power generation
- Forestry & land use
- Buildings, cities, industries and appliances
- Low-emission transport
- Serve the public interest in line with GIZ guidelines (eg, environment, climate, job creation, poverty reduction)
