RFAs: Services for Survivors of Domestic and Gender-Based Violence (Slovak Republic)

Deadline Date: October 10, 2026

Applications are now open to improve access to specialised support services for women experiencing domestic and gender-based violence and their children by expanding existing services and establishing new survivor-centred support systems in Slovakia.

Focus areas include strengthening access to protection and support for survivors of domestic and gender-based violence, expanding the network of specialised counselling centres and women’s shelters, improving territorial coverage and accessibility of services, supporting vulnerable groups including Roma women, refugee women, women with disabilities, women with addictions or in dependent relationships, strengthening child-friendly support for children affected by violence, addressing sexual and digital violence, enhancing outreach and mobile assistance, supporting online assistance services, and implementing perpetrator programmes linked with specialised service providers.

The call aims to address gaps in the availability, accessibility, and coverage of specialised services for women with experience of or at risk of domestic and gender-based violence and their children. It supports projects that expand and adapt existing support networks, establish new specialised services, and improve responses for women facing multiple barriers such as discrimination, socio-economic exclusion, disability, migration status, or dependency.

Supported initiatives should provide comprehensive and integrated assistance, including counselling, shelter-based services, outreach support, mobile services, and online forms of assistance. Projects are expected to follow survivor-centred and trauma-informed approaches while ensuring services respond effectively to different forms of domestic and gender-based violence, including sexual and digital violence.

The programme also supports cooperation between specialised service providers, community-based organisations, and relevant institutions to strengthen support systems. Particular attention is given to improving services for vulnerable women and children, including those affected by the challenges arising from the invasion of Ukraine.

Eligible applicants include public or private entities, commercial or non-commercial organisations, and non-governmental organisations established as legal persons in Slovakia that meet relevant accreditation requirements under national legislation related to social services, child protection, or victim support. Public entities and NGOs implementing programmes for perpetrators of domestic and gender-based violence are also eligible.

Eligible partners may include public or private entities, NGOs, and international organisations actively contributing to project implementation. Partnerships with organisations meeting Council of Europe minimum standards or the Slovak Coordination-Methodological Centre for the Prevention of Violence against Women are required where applicants do not meet these standards.

The total amount available under the call is EUR 7,651,177, with grants ranging from EUR 100,000 to EUR 700,000. The initiative is part of the Norway Grants 2021–2028 programme, which focuses on reducing economic and social disparities, strengthening human rights, social inclusion, and resilience.
