Advaya – Plastic Circularity Innovation Launchpad is an incubation program designed to support innovative, technology-driven startups working on solutions for plastic circularity.
By providing funding, mentorship, and access to a robust incubation ecosystem, Advaya seeks to nurture startups that can create a triple bottom-line impact (social, economic, and environmental) in the domain of CleanTech.
Aims
- The program aims to address critical environmental challenges such as plastic waste management (collection, sorting, treatment, recycling, disposal), plastic recycling (waste to value, reuse), pollution(air, water and soil) mitigation through plastic waste management, and climate change management.
Focus Areas
- The startup must operate in one or more of the following areas (sectors):
- Plastic Waste Management (Collection, Sorting, Treatment, Recycling, Disposal)
- Plastic Recycling (Waste to Value, Reuse)
- Pollution Mitigation (Air, Water, Soil) through plastic waste management
- Climate Change Management through plastic waste solutions
Program Offerings
- Financial Support: Early-stage/ growth-stage startups: Up to INR 20-25 lakhs per startup.
- Incubation Support:
- Access to IIT Kanpur’s incubation facilities, mentorship, and technical expertise.
- Networking opportunities with industry experts, investors, and potential partners.
- Mentorship: Tailored mentoring sessions to help startups refine their product, business model, and go-to-market strategy.
- Market Access: Assistance in piloting and scaling solutions through partnerships with urban local bodies (ULBs), industries, and communities.
- Follow-on Funding: Opportunities to secure additional funding through investor connects and pitch sessions.
Eligibility Criteria
- Startups whose focus aligns with the program areas.
- Startups incorporated and based in India.
- Each startup must have at least one full-time employee.
- The product or technology provides a functionality/ capability not available in any off-the-shelf product, or a functionality/capability that can be demonstrated to possess a competitive advantage.
- The product or technology offered by startup represents original ideas, wholly owned, with freedom to use or is licensed by the startup.
- The team has formed, or is a part of, a recognized, legal entity as its company’s structure.
- Only Private limited Companies with all compliances in place may apply.
- The incubation policy of the incubator at IIT Kanpur will be applicable to startups joining the cohort.
Application Requirements
- Current and future business plan: A detailed business plan outlining the startup’s solution, market strategy, financial projections, and expected impact.
- Prototype/proof of concept: For early-stage startups, a working prototype, pilot results, or any form of market validation should be submitted.
- Impact metrics: Information or data that demonstrates the environmental and social impact of the startup’s solution, such as the volume of plastic recycled, reduction in pollution, or carbon footprint savings.
- About the team: A description of the founding team and key staff, highlighting expertise in plastic waste management, recycling, technology, business development, and environmental impact.
- Financial information: Past financials (for growth-stage startups), funding history, and projections for future growth and impact.
