Deadline: 13 June 2025
The National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC IRAP), Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada, and Global Affairs Canada are pleased to invite Canadian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and large companies to submit an expression of interest to join an Advancing International Clean Technology Demonstrations in the Indo-Pacific (AICTD) partnering mission to the Philippines and Malaysia.
Objectives
- This mission focuses on connecting Canadian cleantech providers with utilities and private-sector partners in the Philippines and Malaysia to explore pilot and demonstration projects in the water and wastewater treatment sector. These projects are crucial for enabling Canadian SMEs to validate and adapt their technologies to market conditions, which is essential to overcome market-entry barriers in Indo-Pacific economies.
Focus Areas
- This mission will focus on technologies applicable to water and wastewater management, including:
- Smart water management and digital solutions: AI leakage detection, smart meters, data loggers, real-time monitoring, IoT systems
- Non-revenue water (NRW) reduction and efficiency optimization: NRW reduction tools, smart valves, pipe inspection, system optimization
- Advanced water and wastewater treatment: brine and sludge treatment, industrial wastewater, modular or decentralized systems, filtration, water reuse
- Sludge management and resource recovery: sludge recycling, biogas generation, sludge-to-energy solutions
- Disinfection and filtration technologies: UV, ozone, membrane filtration, water quality control
- Flood management and climate-resilient infrastructure: flood control, stormwater management, resilient infrastructure
- Integrated water resource management: watershed management, source water protection, upstream water tools
- Industrial water use and cooling technologies: closed-loop cooling systems, water-efficient cooling for data centres and industrial facilities, heat recovery, evaporative cooling, and hybrid cooling systems
Funding Information
- Canadian SMEs selected by NRC IRAP for participation will be invited to apply for up to $5,000 reimbursement of 75% of travel and accommodations costs associated with the mission. Selected participants will be sent instructions and information about this support.
