Deadline Date: April 30, 2026
The Government of New South Wales has launched the Metering Plan Implementation Grant Round 2 to support businesses in upgrading energy metering and monitoring systems for improved efficiency and emissions reduction.
The focus areas include energy performance improvement, energy and emissions reduction project identification, data-driven decision-making for net zero transition, and integration of metering and monitoring systems for cost and energy savings.
This grant programme is designed to help eligible NSW businesses implement comprehensive metering and monitoring upgrades based on detailed metering plans. It aims to strengthen energy management practices by providing businesses with accurate and actionable data to support investment decisions and sustainability goals.
The initiative seeks to improve overall energy performance across NSW businesses by enabling better identification, preparation, and verification of energy efficiency and emissions reduction projects. It also supports the development of robust data systems that assist site managers in achieving net zero objectives through informed operational and financial planning.
Funding of between $20,001 and $100,000 is available under this grant, covering up to 50 percent of eligible project costs. The support is intended to assist businesses in implementing advanced metering infrastructure, including submeters, software solutions, and related monitoring systems.
To be eligible, applicants must hold an active Australian Business Number and be registered for GST. Projects must be delivered at a NSW site where the applicant is responsible for energy costs and has operational control. Eligible businesses must demonstrate significant annual energy use or expenditure, along with a complex energy system involving multiple processes, distribution systems, energy types, or end uses.
Applicants are also required to have an up-to-date metering and monitoring plan, along with itemised quotations for all project components. Government entities and organisations already receiving similar NSW Government funding for the same activities are not eligible.
