The LEP Business Transformation Grant is inviting applications to support micro and small businesses in Derry and Strabane to achieve sustainable and measurable growth through strategic business transformation projects.
The focus areas, of the LEP Business Transformation Grant include improving business productivity and efficiency, strengthening competitiveness and capacity for expansion, encouraging innovation and adoption of new or improved business practices, enabling investment in new technologies, supporting capital investment and sustainability projects, and contributing to regional economic growth through measurable business development outcomes.
The grant is part of the Derry and Strabane LEP Action Plan 2025 to 2028 and is funded by the Department for the Economy, with administration by Derry and Strabane Council. It is intended to support projects that deliver a significant step-change in business performance, helping businesses overcome growth barriers and achieve outcomes that would not otherwise be possible.
Funding is available for micro and small businesses to implement transformation projects that enhance productivity, improve operational capacity, and support long-term competitiveness. The programme prioritises investments that deliver clear and measurable economic impact within the local business environment.
The grant provides financial support ranging from £5,000 to £25,000 for eligible businesses. It is aimed at supporting both private businesses and social economy enterprises operating in the Derry City and Strabane District Council area.
Eligible applicants must be trading for at least 12 months, employ no more than 49 full-time equivalent staff, maintain a registered trading address within the council area, and operate an active business bank account. Applicants must not be in receipt of other grants for the same expenditure and must demonstrate the ability to deliver the project within the required timeframe. Businesses must also meet insurance requirements and applicants must be 18 years or older.
