Deadline: 6 March 2024
Applications are now officially open for the upcoming micro-granting dinner! If you’re an early-stage entrepreneur, this is your chance to showcase your venture and potentially secure funding to grow your ideas further!
Durham Community Incubator (DCI) is a micro-granting dinner that aims to support creative projects and promote community-based development. DCI differs from most micro-grant models because it is collaborative and supports projects at any stage. Additionally, the only guideline that is imposed on the prize money is that winners use the award to support their project, in any capacity they see fitting. DCI winners are generally early stage entrepreneurs from a diverse range of backgrounds who would have otherwise had trouble raising capital through traditional funding mechanisms.
Benefit
- The DCI winner will win over $1,500 for their business idea.
Criteria
- Additionally, your venture should be just an idea/early-stage. Past presentations have spanned art, urban agriculture, social justice, social entrepreneurs, education, technology, and more. The only rule is that the idea must incorporate Durham.
- Entrepreneurs will be allowed to utilize a PowerPoint or some kind of digital presentation during the event if selected to participate in the pitch contest.
