The Vinnova is inviting grant applications to strengthen international collaboration and long-term innovation partnerships that support the development of healthy and resilient societies in response to growing global health, climate, and geopolitical challenges.
The focus areas of the initiative are health/life science, food systems, community planning, and preparedness/civil defense, with the overall objective of strengthening Sweden’s innovation capacity and competitiveness through established international relationships that enable long-term collaboration across these strategic societal domains.
The call supports projects that deepen already established international partnerships to drive innovation within key societal systems. By encouraging cooperation between Swedish actors and partners in selected countries and regions, the initiative seeks to contribute to more robust and resilient communities capable of addressing complex and interconnected global challenges.
Projects can focus on developing joint approaches, strengthening networks, and enhancing collaboration within the identified thematic areas. The emphasis is on practical and forward-looking cooperation that can support innovation ecosystems and improve societal preparedness and sustainability.
Each project can run for up to six months and may receive funding of up to SEK 500,000, with a total budget of SEK 15 million allocated for the first stage of the call, enabling approximately 30 projects to be supported.
Eligible applicants include companies, public sector organizations, civil society actors, academia, and research institutes, with the requirement that at least one Swedish partner collaborates with an international partner from regions such as the Baltics, Brazil, France, India, Japan, Canada, the Nordics, Poland, Switzerland, Singapore, Spain, South Korea, Germany, the United Kingdom, Ukraine, or the United States.
