The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) hereby announces an Expression of Interest (EOI) for the selection of 20 business plans to receive support in the creation or development of MSMEs, in the framework of the service contract implemented by AXA Management Consulting in partnership with Agency for Innovation and Development from Tiraspol.
Activities in this initiative will facilitate young companies’ access to capital and knowledge, through development support, combined with training, consulting, inland study visits and information materials. 20 young entrepreneurs from both banks of the river Nistru (10 from right and 10 from left bank, at least 50% women) will receive equipment/goods/works/services of up to 20,000 USD to support them in starting or expanding their companies with new business models or upgraded processes.
Selection Criteria
Business projects that meet the following selection criteria are accepted at the competition:
- Applications can be submitted by natural persons who undertake to register a micro, small or medium-sized enterprise, or another legal form of entrepreneurial activity within 30 days from the announcement of the results of the competition, as well as by individual enterprises or existing legal entities (maximum 3 years of activity), provided that their business idea is a new direction for their business (with an average number of employees not exceeding 15 people and an annual turnover not exceeding 100,000 euros);
- Business projects must assume an own contribution of at least 10% of the amount of development support requested in the project application. All funding sources must be clearly indicated in the application form.
- At least 3 permanent jobs will be created and the advantage will be given to young people from vulnerable groups, especially women, refugee women and recently returned migrants;
- Future businesses from both banks of the Dniester can participate in the contest, and in the case of requests from the right bank, only beneficiaries from the security zone (Soroca, Florești, Șoldănești, Rezina, Orhei, Criuleni, Anenii Noi, Căușeni districts) can participate, Stefan Voda);
- Priority will be given to requests that are oriented towards the implementation of modernized business models or processes in the following areas:
- Entrepreneurship by young women.
- Technological entrepreneurship with a focus on the green economy and technology transfer.
- Implementation of digital technologies and means of automation.
- Involvement of vulnerable and disadvantaged groups, with an emphasis on social orientation.
- Creating or developing businesses in adjacent urban and rural areas, especially those run by or having a positive impact on women and vulnerable groups.
- Export-oriented businesses that promote trade between the two banks of the Dniester.
- Job creation.
