The European Commission (EC) has announced its call for projects to support the SMEs registered in Lithuania to boost the cybersecurity resilience and to promote the development of cybersecurity knowledge through the empowerment of educational technologies.
Purpose
- Strengthen the implementation and dissemination of cyber security solutions to increase the cyber security resilience of micro, small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
- Create and strengthen cyber security knowledge and share it.
Invitation Directions
- Acquisition and installation of cyber security products, processes and/or services needed to increase the cyber resistance of SMEs in the infrastructure of the communication and information system (RIS) of SMEs (direction 1).
- Development of new cyber security educational content for non-formal education and uploading it to a digital educational tool available on the market (2nd direction).
Funding Information
- Funds for the invitation
- Up to EUR 1,440,000.00 of financial support funds, of which:
- Up to EUR 720,000.00 for the implementation of the 1st direction projects.
- Up to EUR 720,000.00 for the implementation of 2nd direction projects.
- If the amount of financial support funds requested in one direction of the call is greater than the amount of financial support funds allocated to this direction, and the amount of financial support funds requested to be allocated in the other direction is lower than the amount of financial support funds allocated to this direction, it is possible to redistribute the financial support funds between the call directions.
- Minimum and maximum amount of financial support funds:
- The minimum amount of financial support that can be requested is EUR 20,000.00.
- The maximum amount of financial support that can be requested is EUR 60,000.00.
Supported Activities
- 1st direction:
- Acquisition and installation of cyber security product, process and or service in SME RIS infrastructure (mandatory activity).
- Conducting training for the applicant’s employees related to raising the level of cyber security knowledge (possible activity).
- 2nd direction:
- Creation and uploading of new cyber security educational content for non-formal education to a digital educational tool available on the market (mandatory activity).
Eligibility Criteria
- Eligible applicants and partners (partners are only available in the 2nd track):
- Very small enterprise or small enterprise or medium enterprise.
- A legal entity registered in Lithuania, controlled by European Union (EU) member states or citizens of EU member states.
- Meets the general criteria for the selection of projects, the list of which is determined Financial support to third countries, provided in accordance with the 2021 May 20 Regulation (EU) 2021 887 of the European Parliament and of the Council, which establishes the European Cybersecurity Industry, Technology and Scientific Research Competence Center and the Network of National Coordination Centers, administration and financing rules , approved by the Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Lithuania in 2024.
- The cooperating organization can participate in the 2nd direction project
- The author of the digital educational tools available on the market, in which new cyber security educational content for non-formal education will be created and published during the implementation of the project.
