The Trading for Good: Stockport programme offers organisations the opportunity to develop trading income while strengthening community impact through funding, learning, and networks.
The programme focuses on generating trading income, building resilient organisations, accessing local opportunities for income and impact, understanding and contributing to local priorities, developing emotional resourcefulness, strengthening peer networks, and increasing social impact within Stockport.
Trading for Good: Stockport is designed for organisations seeking to grow their income through trading while delivering meaningful social or environmental impact. It supports leaders of early-stage social enterprises, charities, and community projects by equipping them with practical skills and resources to expand sustainably. Through a structured learning journey, participants gain insights into building stronger organisations that can generate consistent income while addressing local needs.
The programme provides a comprehensive package of support, including a transformational learning and development experience delivered over ten sessions across a year. Participants benefit from expert guidance, specialist mentoring, and peer-to-peer learning, enabling them to apply new knowledge directly to their organisations. Alongside this, a Match Trading™ Grant of up to £4,000 is offered to help organisations grow their trading income and put their learning into practice.
A key strength of the programme is its collaborative approach, where participants join a ready-made network of like-minded individuals. This network encourages idea-sharing, mutual support, and collective problem-solving, helping organisations overcome challenges and grow together. Participants also gain access to local opportunities and connections that can further enhance their impact and sustainability.
The initiative is particularly inclusive, welcoming organisations led by and for diverse communities, including Black and racially minoritised groups, deaf and disabled individuals, women, LGBTQ+ communities, and those based in economically disadvantaged areas. By prioritising inclusivity, the programme ensures that a wide range of voices contribute to community development and local impact.
