Deadline Date: June 30, 2026
The United Nations Development Programme is seeking applications to support agricultural commercialisation in Malawi through mentorship and off-taking services.
The focus areas, include agricultural commercialisation, mentorship and technical business support, off-taking and structured purchasing systems, market linkages for smallholder farmers, agribusiness development, inclusive value chain development, soybean value chains, rice value chains, banana value chains, aquaculture, apiculture, capacity building, market-oriented business practices, and strengthening supply chains for smallholder farmers.
The initiative is implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Malawi Country Office under the UCHI Strengthening Agricultural Commercialisation Project. It aims to provide technical expertise, resources, and networks to address challenges in agricultural commercialisation and expand market opportunities for smallholder farmers.
The programme seeks to engage qualified firms and individuals to deliver mentorship and off-taking services. Mentorship involves providing technical and business support, while off-taking focuses on structured purchasing and market linkage. A combined role integrating both functions is also available under the programme.
Participation in the initiative provides access to farmers’ organisations, expanded supply chains, facilitation support, enhanced visibility, and opportunities to engage with agribusiness challenges and solutions. It also strengthens sector expertise, networking, and partnerships within agricultural value chains.
Eligible applicants include legally registered firms with relevant value chain experience and demonstrated capacity, as well as individuals with relevant experience and commitment to inclusive agribusiness development.
