The STARHAUS invites artists/creatives and technology providers SMEs to submit proposals for Experiments aimed at changing the mindset of communities into adopting sustainable consumption models by using customized products manufactured by small-scale factories configured for local communities.
The STARHAUS Open Call aims at supporting the contribution of thirds parties to specific use-cases with additional tools, services applications, ideas or services, as well as designed strategies to enhance the acceptance of the project solutions in the target communities. STARHAUS invites artists/creatives and technology providers SMEs to submit proposals for Experiments aimed at changing the mindset of communities into adopting sustainable consumption models by using customized products manufactured by small-scale factories configured for local communities.
The 1st Open Call will focus on understanding how to change mindset of the target communities toward sustainable consumption through on-field user research and to identify the target community requirements as well as the possible barriers and resistance to introduce transformations and innovation opportunities. Activities to be funded within the 1st Open Call should include:
- On-field user research with target communities (e.g., municipalities, consumer groups, local associations, schools etc.) for the definition of the community requirements.
- Experimentation of awareness process with innovative techniques, involving artistic competences, addressed to the target communities towards sustainable consumption.
Funding Information
- The project has 100000 EUR to provide support to at least 2 SMEs that will be working side-by-side with the STARHAUS partners to produce relevant requirements and specifications for project activities, willing to contribute to research challenges of decentralised manufacturing processes and to support the validation of the proposed solutions within the project use-cases:
- Pet Food
- Fertilizers
- Beverage
- Breakfast Cereals
Outcomes
- Definition of the target-communities’ requirements to introduce transformations towards sustainable consumption, and identification of possible barriers and resistance to introduce such transformations.
- Organisation, documentation and evaluation of the awareness activities addressed to the target communities.
- Dissemination of the activities and results at the end of the collaboration in one of the following ways: open science articles, popular science articles, social media video, poster, blog post or other similar methods.
Eligibility Criteria
- Proposals are evaluated against criteria of degree of innovation, technical approach, creative and business capacities and cost-benefit.
- Proposals can be submitted by single entities or by a consortium composed of 2 legal entities.
- Entities must be established in an EU or a Horizon Europe Associated country.
- Applications made by organisations that are not SMEs are not eligible.
- Duration of the proposed Experiments is limited to a minimum of three (3) months and a maximum of six (6) months. Applications proposing Experiments with duration outside these limits are NOT eligible.
