Deadline Date: October 08, 2026
The Clean Energy Transition Partnership has launched its Joint Call 2026 to support transnational research, development, and innovation projects that contribute to the transition towards a climate-neutral and sustainable European energy system.
The call focuses on accelerating the clean energy transition through transnational collaboration across the energy value chain, supporting research, development and innovation activities, fostering cooperation between technology providers, research institutions, infrastructure providers, industrial and energy companies, and promoting innovative clean energy solutions that contribute to a sustainable and climate-neutral European energy system.
The Joint Call 2026 is organized in collaboration with funding organizations and programme owners from across Europe and beyond. Through the alignment of national and regional funding programmes, the initiative seeks to strengthen international cooperation and support the development and deployment of innovative energy technologies and solutions.
The opportunity is open to a broad range of stakeholders, including technology providers, research institutions, infrastructure providers, industrial companies, energy companies, experienced applicants, newcomers, representatives of European Union platforms, media organizations, and members of the public interested in learning more about clean energy innovation.
Project proposals must be submitted in English through the CETPartnership Submission Platform using the mandatory proposal templates and within the specified deadlines. Eligible project consortia must include at least three beneficiary partners, including one coordinator, from at least three different participating countries within the selected Call Module. At least two beneficiary partners must be from European Union Member States or Horizon Europe Associated Countries.
To ensure balanced collaboration, no single project consortium partner may account for more than 60 percent of the total planned project effort, and the combined effort of all partners from the same country may not exceed 75 percent of the total planned project effort. Certain individuals, including members of the CETPartnership Governing Board, General Assembly, and researchers employed by participating funding organizations, are not eligible to participate in project proposals.
In line with Horizon Europe provisions, specific country participation requirements apply, particularly for projects beginning at Technology Readiness Levels 4–5 and aiming to reach Technology Readiness Levels 6–8. Proposed projects must start no later than 15 December 2027 and may have a maximum duration of 36 months. All proposals are required to include a dedicated work package on Reporting and Knowledge Community activities.
Funding is provided through participating national and regional funding agencies under the CETPartnership framework. Applicants must comply with transnational eligibility requirements, thematic requirements of the selected Call Module, and the national or regional funding rules of the relevant funding agency supporting their participation.
