Deadline Date: May 29, 2026
The NSW Contemporary Music Touring and Travel Fund provides support to artists, acts, music businesses and industry professionals in New South Wales by providing financial assistance for domestic and international touring, travel, and professional development activities in the contemporary music sector.
The program supports domestic tours, domestic and international professional development opportunities, attendance and performance at significant music market events, workshops, camps, mentorships, residencies, and identified business opportunities for music industry professionals. Funding can also support travel and accommodation expenses including flights, trains, buses, car hire, petrol, tolls, airport transfers, travel insurance, visas, per diems, and accommodation.
Applicants can receive funding of up to AUD 2,500 per person for domestic activity and up to AUD 5,000 per person for international activity. Artists, acts, and industry professionals from regional and remote NSW may also request an additional AUD 500 per eligible touring party member to cover extra travel-related expenses.
Funding is available only for travel and accommodation costs connected to eligible activities. Domestic tour applications must include confirmation of at least three performances in three different locations outside the applicant’s place of residence. Applications for performances at music market events must include confirmation of invitation to perform, while professional development opportunities and business-related travel support require evidence or invitations related to the activity.
The program does not support international tours, artist fees, rehearsals, equipment purchases, marketing and promotion costs, event passes, or activities that have already received NSW Government funding. Applications are also ineligible if the proposed activity takes place within the applicant’s place of residence or if applicants are not performing original contemporary music. The program excludes experimental music and sound art, contemporary classical music, opera, choral and ensemble work, music theatre, and community music activities.
The fund is open to NSW artists, acts, music industry professionals, and music businesses applying on behalf of an artist or act. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, must have lived in NSW for a minimum of 12 months, and must be actively performing or working in contemporary music. Applicants are also required to have an active Australian Business Number (ABN), a bank account matching the ABN name, or access to a funds administrator.
