The Kerala Development Innovation Strategic Council (KDISC), in collaboration with the Local Self Government Department Kerala, Suchithwa Mission, Haritha Kerala Mission, Clean Kerala Company, Kerala Solid Waste Management Project (KSWMP), Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM), Kerala Institute of Local Administration (KILA), and Centre for Management Development (CMD) is launching the “Waste Management Hackathon”.
This groundbreaking endeavour seeks to empower Local Governments by connecting them with innovative startup solutions designed to tackle the challenges they face in waste management. By harnessing the potential of technology and innovation, this program aspires Kerala’s waste management practices to a new era of efficiency and sustainability.
Objective of this hackathon is to identify the ready to implement or prototype ready effective technologies to solve the problems in the waste management field. Topics for hackathon are:
- Technologies for waste processing (Organic, Plastic, Electronic & Hazardous, and other forms of waste)
- Technologies for waste segregation, transfer, and handling systems
- Business model for waste processing, recycling, reduction, and recovery
- Resource reuse and management
- This hackathon will provide financial support for the pilot project, and link with the market for the procurement.
Financial Support
- Financial support for pilot intervention will be channelised for selected statups/agencies/organisations through various programmes of the Government of Kerala.
