Standard Chartered Women in Technology Programme (Uganda)

Deadline Date: April 25, 2026

The Standard Chartered Women in Tech Uganda Programme has launched its applications to support women-led, tech-enabled enterprises in overcoming systemic barriers and achieving measurable commercial growth.

The programme focuses on enterprise growth, community building, and market access as its core priorities, addressing key challenges such as limited access to finance, mentorship, and capacity-building opportunities for women entrepreneurs in Uganda’s technology ecosystem.

The programme is built on a three-pillar model that creates an integrated pathway for growth. The Community of Practice serves as a long-term, self-sustaining ecosystem connecting founders, investors, and industry leaders across different engagement levels, ensuring continuous learning and collaboration beyond the accelerator cycle.

The Women in Tech Accelerator acts as the core development engine, supporting up to 20 selected businesses through a competitive process and an intensive 12-week build sprint focused on leadership, product development, commercialisation, and operational excellence, with the goal of graduating investment-ready enterprises.

Market Integration bridges strategy and execution by connecting participants to real-world opportunities such as pilot projects, corporate partnerships, investor networks, and commercial deals, ensuring that learning translates into tangible business outcomes. The top five selected enterprises receive an equity-free catalytic grant of $10,000 each, along with an additional $2,000 technical assistance fund tailored to their specific business needs.

To be eligible, applicants must have at least one woman co-founder working full-time in the business, employ fewer than 10 people, and generate annual revenue below $100,000. The business must be legally incorporated, headquartered in, or operational within Uganda, and must be tech-based or tech-enabled with digital innovation at its core.
