The Athar Green Tech Hackathon is inviting applications from innovators with promising climate and green technology ideas to receive training, mentorship, and venture development support.
The program focuses on climate adaptation, circular economy, Design Thinking, Lean Startup methodologies, climate technology, green technology, AgriTech, CleanTech, WaterTech, renewable energy, sustainable manufacturing, commercialization, scalability, environmental impact, and entrepreneurial development. 3 Winning Teams | EGP 50,000 Grant Each.
The Athar Green Tech Hackathon is implemented in partnership with the Embassy of Finland and aims to identify and support up to 20 promising innovators working on solutions that address climate adaptation and the circular economy.
The hackathon is open to idea-stage startups, researchers, university students, recent graduates, and aspiring entrepreneurs with innovative ideas that have the potential to become commercially viable ventures. During the three-day program, participants will receive hands-on training in Design Thinking and Lean Startup methodologies while working closely with experienced mentors to validate problems, refine solutions, and strengthen their entrepreneurial, teamwork, and pitching skills.
The program is designed to help participants transform research and innovative ideas into scalable, market-ready startups that generate meaningful environmental and social impact.
Applicants must have an innovative solution addressing a climate or sustainability challenge and be an idea-stage startup, research-based innovation, or an aspiring entrepreneurial team with commercialization potential. Eligible solutions should operate within Climate Tech or Green Technology sectors, including AgriTech, CleanTech, WaterTech, Circular Economy, Renewable Energy, Sustainable Manufacturing, or other sustainability-related fields. Applications must be submitted by teams of at least two members. Female-led teams are strongly encouraged to apply. Applicants are also expected to participate throughout the full duration of the hackathon and demonstrate strong potential for scalability and positive environmental impact.
