The Asia New Zealand Foundation Te Whītau Tūhono is offering up to eight young Southeast Asian tech entrepreneurs and business leaders the opportunity to visit New Zealand to connect with their New Zealand counterparts and attend the NZ High-Tech Awards, one of the largest gatherings of tech businesses in New Zealand.
The week-long programme will give participants better understanding of New Zealand’s emerging tech sector, a chance to interact with fellow entrepreneurs working in the tech industry and gain insights to connect their own businesses internationally.
Successful applicants will meet New Zealand tech entrepreneurs and business leaders, develop a greater knowledge of the tech industry within New Zealand, and explore ways to collaborate with entrepreneurs from New Zealand.
Applicants will attend the NZ High-tech awards, one of New Zealand’s largest tech celebrations, visit local entrepreneurs in the tech industry, as well as connect with past Kiwi YBLI’s, members of the Foundation’s Leadership Network & stakeholders of the Foundation.
Funding Information
- The Asia New Zealand Foundation will fund the costs of successful applicants, including:
- a return economy airfare
- domestic transport
- accommodation
- most meals and miscellaneous expenses asscociated with the visit.
- Participants will need to cover their own personal spending money, any visas and travel insurance (mandatory).
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be:
- aged under 40.
- able to demonstrate leadership in their field and a working level proficiency of English language ability.
- based in and have citizenship of one of the ASEAN member countries.
- interested in connecting with equivalents from other countries and exploring international business opportunities.
- be confident public speakers willing to engage in dialogue with entrepreneurs from other countries.
- willing to contribute to the relationship between New Zealand and ASEAN.
- an entrepreneur or business leader at CEO or senior management level involved in tech from one of the ASEAN countries.
Selection Process
- Applications will be assessed by the Asia New Zealand Foundation staff in consultation with external experts, and relevant offshore posts where applicable.
