Join the ClimAct Hackathon to develop innovative and sustainable solutions to climate change.
The hackathon targets participants interested in developing innovative and technological solutions to real-world challenges caused by climate change in order to increase resilience and sustainability.
What challenges will be addressed through the hackathon?
The challenges that will be addressed during the hackathon may include, but are not limited to:
- Reducing carbon emissions (due to transportation, energy consumption, etc.)
- Food and water security
- Loss of biodiversity
- Ocean pollution
- Waste management
- Climate mobility – movement of people because of sea-level rise, storms, droughts, and other such impacts related to environmental change and climate change.
- Disaster risk reduction
- Other challenges proposed by the participants during the registration process.
What are the opportunities for participants of the hackathon?
- Scale and prototype the idea utilizing the IOM Resilience Innovation Facility, a state-of-the-art Fablab with digital fabrication and software technologies.
- Pre-incubation and business development support for the winning team for one year to support the development and establishment of the business idea.
- Collaborate with a diverse range of people with different skills.
- Learn new concepts and ideas (design thinking, innovation, pitching,).
- Be exposed to a dynamic, interdisciplinary, and intercultural environment.
- Enhance digital technology skills.
- Networking opportunities, exposure, and visibility.
- Present your ideas to a group of experts.
